The first player to reach 1000 points after a series of hands, wins the game. The goal is to win tricks to score the value of counting cards taken on tricks, and to meld certain combinations of cards having point values. If duplicates are played, the first card played ranks higher. The complete ordering from highest to lowest is A, 10, K, Q, J, 9. A pinochle deck consists of two copies of each of the 9, 10, jack, queen, king, and ace cards of all four suits, for 48 cards per deck. Clarify all house rules before beginning.
